The Bullet That Missed (Thursday Murder Club, #3)
by Richard Osman
I found this one a bit over the top compared to the previous two, and a bit less funny. The more pervasive deviations from plausibility make the really wild moments less unexpected/surprising. Is there a technical word for that, in comedy?
The Connie and Ibrahim conversations were very well done, and Bogdan and Stephen. (Although dementia without changes to the person's emotional regulation abilities.... idk, that's a specific kind of sadness that avoids a much bigger and more difficult sadness.) The Viking's whole storyline and pretty much every scene with him in it felt forced, though I can't point to anything specifically wrong with it.
