Mis(h)adra
by Iasmin Omar Ata
Nothing personal; I'm pretty sure I'm not the intended audience. I was excited to be able to read the Arabic text---I think I get the wordplay of the title, but only via google translate and some guessing. I liked how Ata depicted the atypical seizure using the visual vocabulary they'd developed. My overall feeling however was that the story/metaphors/relationships/etc are heavy-handed. And, as a non-anime-fan, I didn't really care for the art and the references to specific shows did nothing for me.
