To tired to comprehend this properly rn, there are a lot of big words and large poetic statements. I really like the art, tho, and I think I like what they are getting at.
Update 2023: I listened to a podcast interview w/ the author and looked over her social media and I'm retroactively annoyed with this. Probably unfair to re-rate it without rereading it (I lent it to an ex and never got it back, which is fine---it was much more their thing than mine anyway), so I might see if I can find a copy to skim again without buying it.
You know when you give something credit for what you think it's trying to say and maybe falling short on the communication side? I think I gave this book too much credit. I remember it being sort of repetitive, wandering, and using a lot of Philosophy Jargon. My impression of the author is revising toward them having read a lot of philosophy and latching on to the parts that make a virtue of doing exactly what she already does and likes doing without having seriously considered the alternatives.
(OK, so, yes, it was using the phrase "always already" half a dozen times in a short timespan in the podcast interview that set me off, lol. You know you are allowed to say "is" right?)
