Paper Boys was shelved next to [b:Saga, Volume 1|15704307|Saga, Volume 1|Brian K. Vaughan|https://images.gr-assets.com/books/1428350405s/15704307.jpg|19113524] at Busboys and Poets tonight, and, well, the flesh is weak. This reminds me of "Stranger Things" for a lot of reasons (mostly because it's 1980s sci fi with horror tendencies, although ST leans toward horror with sci fi tendencies), but all the main characters are girls and so are most of the side characters, so it's already a big improvement!! Also they touch on period-typical homophobia several different ways without making it an Issue Book.
