Didn't realize this was on GR, so now I'm going to have to reread it to give a proper review. I do remember that I was not pleased with the elision of butch trans women and meant to write them a letter about it, but I don't remember the details.
This is very much about Australian queer communities, and the prevalence of self-identified butches in the US is a source of wonder and delight for some of the authors. Dang, I'm glad to live in the US occasionally.
