Akiva Reads

I liked this except the beginning and the end. NO. MORE. DEAD. LESBIANS. (That's not really a spoiler, you find out in the first 5 pages of the novel, but I'm hiding it anyway because it's a bit less clear in the movie.) Too bad, since the art is so lovely and I did like the characters. When a big chunk of the plot is a tired homophobic trope, though, and played for maximum melodrama....

Sam and I tried the movie afterwards, and NOPE. Read the book, for what it's worth, but give the movie a miss.
