The Tombs of Atuan (Earthsea Cycle, #2)

by Ursula K. Le Guin

Hard to get into whenever I picked it up, and hard to put down whenever I had to stop. It was awkward that most of the plot was driven by Sparrowhawk's explanations. That did mean that sometimes something only mildly creepy the first time was suddenly cast in a new horrifying light when it was explained fully, which I did appreciate. Scary book. It might have made me want to keep a nightlight on tonight except that there were also many poetic moments alone with the deep, dark, and not-evil night sky.
