Excruciatingly poor writing. Think "fanfic by an 11-year-old" bad. It might have gone through an automated spellcheck once, but I wouldn't bet actual money on that. Kalix is illiterate and addicted to laudanum (laudanum?!), and I'm beginning to wonder if the writing is supposed to be hers.
I can't begin to understand how anyone could give this more than one star, much less a glowing review. (wtf, Neil Gaiman???) I gave up after twenty pages.
