War for the Oaks

Finally got around to reading this, though I've known it's a classic for a long time. I liked it a LOT more than I expected to. I think my expectations were colored by that excruciating Mercedes Lackey series---"Bedlam's Bard," something like that? I don't know which was written first, but though the subject matter is similar on the surface, there's just no comparison. It was lots of fun and I liked the mythology more than many Sidhe-based stories I've read.
