A Thousand Splendid Suns

by Khaled Hosseini

Started slow, but I ended up blazing through it. Had no idea what it was about, other than I'd heard it was good.

What most struck me were the horrific crimes that the Taliban committed against humanity as a whole, but women in particular. "No dancing, no singing"? It sounds like a line from a satire, but the fact that it's real takes every bit of humor out of it. The women's hospital in particular was sickening.

This must change.
